Actually, you do not need just half of a whole hide. Most hides average between 45-60 feet. If you're really good, you can get away with 45 exactly on an n/a (including door panels). But, you will waste some material if you've never attempted this process before. $200-$300 is about average for a good leather hide for retail. Expect to pay around $1000-$1800 from an upholstery shop for them to redo the interior. But, what you're really paying for from an upholstery shop is the labor (as well as the markup on the leather). It takes me about 50 hours to redo a full interior, not to mention materials like foam padding, adhesive, and apoxies for repairs to the console.
